Uganda Vs Tanzania: Desabre names final 24 for residential camp

Uganda Cranes head coach Sebastien Desabre has named  the final 24 players who will enter residential camp at Jokas Hotel, Bweyogerere on Monday evening for Saturday’s Total AFCON 2019 Qualifier against Tanzania at Mandela National Stadium, Namboole.

The National team trained at the StarTimes Stadium, Lugogo on Monday for close to two hours as  three more players Goalkeeper Salim Jamal, Godfrey Walusimbi and Edrisa Lubega joined the camp.

‘We are all set for the match against Tanzania. Since we qualified and played at the last AFCON, all our focus is on making it again. We call upon the fans to rally behind the team’ goalie Jamal noted.

Addressing the media after the training session, Zambian based left winger Joseph Ochaya expressed the need to win the home game against Tanzania;

‘We have played with our neighbours Tanzania in many games and such matches are close. We are set this time round to win this match because it is crucial for us in this campaign’ Ochaya told the media.

Meanwhile, more foreign based players are expected in the country and shall attend the training on Tuesday morning (10am) at Mandela National Stadium, Namboole.

Captain Denis Onyango, Derrick Nsibambi, William Luwagga Kizito, Allan Kateregga, Yunus Sentamu, Moses Opondo and Faruku Miya will join camp later today.
