Head Coach of the Uganda Women’s Senior team Crested Cranes Sheryl Botes has announced a squad of 20 players for the upcoming 2025 CECAFA Women’s Championship in Tanzania, opting to go with a predominantly local contingent of players from the Uganda women’s competitions, with the exception of Margaret Kunihira, who plays for Caessia Queens LFC in Tanzania.
The tournament will take place from 12th-21st June 2025, at the Azam Complex in Chamazi featuring Tanzania (hosts), Uganda (defending champions), Burundi, South Sudan and Kenya.
The tournament will be played on a round robin basis.
The players will converge at 2pm on Sunday 8th June 2025 at the FUFA Hotel in Kisaasi.
Training will be held on Monday 9th June 2025 at 2pm-MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo.
The team will fly out on Tuesday 10th June 2025.
