Ugandan footballers in diaspora: Zirintusa ends season with a brace, Lubega can’t stop scoring in Estonia

A couple of footballers with Ugandan decent featured in the diaspora league games and build up games prior to the new season.

Midfielder Boban Zirintusa grabbed a brace as his Mtibwa Sugars side beat Ruvu Shooting 2-1 in the final game of the Tanzanian Vodacom Premier League.

This was his second brace in the season after an earlier great show with the same collection against Singida United.

Uganda Cranes right-back Nicholas Wadada played full time as his Azam FC side drew 2-2 at Tanzania Prisons while Seiri Arigumaho featured as his side Singida fell 0-2 at home to Biashara United.

Inform Uganda Cranes forward Edrisa Lubega netted a brace as his side Paide Linammeskond beat Levadia 4-2 in the Estonia Meistrilliga. He now has six goals this season.

In the Turkey Premier League, Uganda Cranes star Miya Faruku registered an assist for his Konyaspor FC side but lost 3-2 against Alanyaspor FC as the league climaxed.

In the Danish Premier League, Robert Kakeeto played full time as his Aalborg FC side defeated Midtjylland 2-1 on the road while another Uganda Cranes player Moses Opondo came on in the 39th minute for Laursen as his Odense FC side drew 1-1 at Horsens FC.

Uganda Cranes winger Moses Oloya also played for 90 minutes as his Hanoi T$T defeated Ho chi Minch 3-0 and so did Joseph Mpande as his Hai Phong FC drew 1-1 with Hong Linh Ha Tinh.

Elsewhere in the Vietnam Premier League, Uganda Cranes midfielder Geofrey Baba Kizito played for 90 minutes as his Than Quang Ninh FC beat Song Lam Nghe 2-0.

In the Swedish Suppretan,  Uganda Cranes striker Alexis Bbakka wasn’t in the matchday squad due to injury as his Umea FC side defeated Ljungskile 3-1 at home.

In the Swedish Elitettan Women, forward Ritah Kivumbi played full time as her Mallbackens W beat Sandvikens W 3-2 while in the Swedish Allsvenskan Women, Viola Nambi wasn’t in the matchday squad as her Vaxjo DFF W defeated Pitea W 0-1 on the road.

In Albania, former Uganda Cranes left fullback Godfrey Walusimbi wasn’t in the matchday squad as his Vllaznia FC side lost 3-0 at Partizani.

In Scotland, Uganda Cranes defender Bevis Mugabi and his Motherwell FC side drew 2-2 against Hamilton FC in a friendly match prior to the new season.

Meanwhile, In Israel,  Uganda Cranes players William Luwagga Kizito and Timothy Awany kick started pre-season training at Hapoel Kfar Saba and Ashdod FC respectively ahead of the 2020/21 season.

Elswhere;

Defender Isak Ssewankambo featured for 90 minutes as his side Ostertunds drew 0-0 with Djurgarden while  Uganda Cranes defender Ronald Ddungu Mukiibi wasn’t in the 18 man squad due to injury in the Swedish Allsvenskan.

In the Zambian Premier League, Paul Musamali featured as his Buildcon FC side beat Nakalamba Leopards 3-0 while defender Shafiq Bakaki was an unused substitute as his Nkana Red Devils side beat Zanaco FC 3-0. Goalkeeper James Alitho wasn’t in for Zanaco.

In France, Dereck Kutesa featured for his Reims FC side as they defeated Le Harve 3-0 in a friendly match while In the English Championship, forward Jordan Obita was an unused substitute as his Reading FC side lost 4-1 to Swansea City.

In USA, Ian Ssendi was in as his Minneapolis FC drew 1-1 against Turbo Sports in the Goals Minnesota cup.
