Ugandan players in Diaspora: Sebwato keeps 10th clean sheet in Rwanda, Bayo makes timely return for Sakhnin in victory over Luwagga’s Nof Hagalil

Another action packed weekend it was for a number of Ugandan players abroad over the weekend but do you know how they fared?

As usual 102.1 FUFA fm’s Ronnie Lusulire followed them up to find out who was in and who was out.


Custodian Nicholas Sebwato kept his 10th season clean sheet as his Mukura Victory side beat Marines 1-0 at home. Another Ugandan, Robert Mukongotya also featured for the hosts.

Uganda Cranes skipper Emmanuel Okwi was in while midfielder Muzamir Mutyaba was out as their Kiyovu FC side beat Police FC 1-0 on the road.

Custodian Batte Shamir was out suspended as his AS Kigali side beat Gorilla 2-0.

Forward Musa Esenu scored his first league goal for Rayon Sport as they defeated Rutsiro FC 1-0.


Fahad Bayo Aziz made a timely return back at Bneisakhnin following the death of his mother and came on in the 83rd minute for Conte as they defeated Kizito Luwagga’s Nof Hagalil 2-0 at home. Luwagga came on in the 70th minute for Fadida.

Timothy Denis Awany was not in the match day squad due to suspension as his Ashdod FC side lost 2-0 at Hapoel Jerusalem.

CAF Champions League

Defender Savio Kabugo played fulltime as his Jwaneng Galaxy drew 1-1 at home against Etoile de Sahel.

Custodian Denis Onyango played fulltime in goal and kept a clean sheet as his Mamelodi Sundowns drew goaless at Sudan side Al Merrick.

Left back Joseph Ochaya was an unused for TP Mazembe as they lost 2-0 at Egyptian side Al Masry.

Midfielder Taddeo Lwanga was out as he is still recovering from Injury as his Simba SC drew 1-1 at Niger side US Gendarmeri.


Jordan Obita bagged a brace as his Wycombe Wanderers drew 5-5 with Cheltenham in the English Football League One.

Striker Uche Mubiru Ikpeazu came on for Jordan Hugill in the 72nd as his Cardiff City drew 1-1 with Blackpool in the Championship.


Defender Bevis Mugabi played full time as his Motherwell drew 1-1 with Aberdeen.


Herbert Bockhorn was an unused substitute for VFL Bochum as they drew 1-1 with Stuttgart in the Germany Bundesliga.


Isaak Ssewakambo wasn’t in the match day squad as Ostersunds FK lost 1-0 to Gefle FC in a friendly game.

Ronald Mukiibi wasn’t in Degerfors match day squad as they beat Skilijebo in the Svenska Cupen.


Keziron Kizito played 55 minutes before he was subbed for Monday Bwalya while Francis Olaki played for 50 minutes before coming off for Christopher Chola as their Buildcon FC side beat Nkwazi 1-0 on the road.

Goalie Yasin Mugabi was an unused substitute as his Red Arrows FC beat Prisons 2-1.

Hashim Ssempala played full-time as his Kabwe Warriors beat Green Buffaloes 2-1.

Goalie Isma Watenga wasn’t in the match day squad as his Chippa United side drew 2-2 with Royal AM.

Custodian Salim Jamal was in goal as his Pretoria Callies side beat Black Leopards 2-0 in the GladAfrica Championship.


Goalkeeper Charles Lukwago kept a clean sheet as his St.George drew goalless against Hadiya Hossana.


Mathias Kigonya featured fulltime for Azam FC while Nicholas Wadada is still out Injured as they beat Pamba FC 2-0 in a friendly game.
