Ugandan players in the diaspora: Kizza shines on Montreal debut, Edrisa nets 14th league goal

Another entertaining weekend it was for a number of Ugandan players in the diaspora with some now on their way for national duty but do you know how they fared? Find out now.

In the MLS, Left back Mustafa Kizza made his debut at his new side Montreal Impact as a 71st minute substitute for Sedjic and was involved in the vital goal that booked the Thierry Henry coached side a place in the MLS cup playoffs in the 88th minute scored by Romell Quioto as his beautiful pass down the left found Mason Toye whose well weighed in cross found Quito. Montreal won the tie 3-2.

In the Estonia Meistrilliga, Edrisa Lubega scored his 14th League goal as his Paide Linameskond beat Narva 4-2.

In England, right back Elvis Bwomono played full time as his Southend United side bowed out of the FA cup against Boreham wood 4-3 in penalties following a 3 all draw in normal time.

In Turkey, Farouk Miya featured for 90 minutes as his Konyaspor FC side beat Mbwana Samatta’s Fenerbahce 2-0 on the road.

In South Africa MTN 8 cup, Moses Waiswa played 55minutes before coming off as his Supersport United side lost 1-0 at Bloemfontein Celtic to bow out 2-1 on aggregate.

In the Israel Ligat HA’al, Timothy Awany featured for 90 minutes while Fahad Bayo played 59 minutes as their Ashdod FC side lost 2-1 to Maccabi Haifa.

Elsewhere, William Luwagga Kizito played full time as his Hapoel Kfar Saba drew goalless at Hapoel Beer Sheva.

In Zambia, Mathias Kigonya featured for 90 minutes in goal as his Forest Rangers drew 1-1 with Lusaka Dynamos.

Meanwhile, Paul Musamali was in as his Buildcon FC side beat Power Dynamos a 1-0 win over Power Dynamos

In Swedish Allsvenskun, Ronald Mukiibi featured for 90 minutes as his Ostertunds lost 2-1 to BK Hackens.

In the Allsvenskan Women, Viola Nambi was introduced in the 86th minute as his Vaxjo DFF W claimed a 2-0 win over Eskilstuna United.

In Vietnam, Baba Kizito didn’t feature for his Than Quang Ninh side as they lost 4-0 to Moses Oloya’s Hanoi T&T in the Vietnam V-league Championship round. Oloya featured for 90 minutes.
