Ugandans In Diaspora: Luwagga, Miya find the back of the net

Another great weekend it was for a number of Ugandan players in the diaspora as they registered different results.

In the Turkish Premier League, Faruku Miya came on in the 57th minute and won the match for Konyaspor in the 95th minute from the spot in a 1-0 win over Rizespor to keep their relegation survival hopes alive.

Konyaspor currently occupies 14th place on the log with 30 points from 30 games.

In Isreal, two Ugandans William Luwagga Kizito and Timothy Denis Awany were in action for their respective clubs, both recording victories.

Luwagga scored the game’s lone strike as Hapoel Kfar Saba won 1-0 away to Maccabi Netanya at the Levita Stadium.

Meanwhile, defender Awany completed the entire duration of the match when his club, Ashdod convincingly out-muscled Hapoel Hadera 3-1.

The feat arrived a week after Ashdod had narrowly lost 3-2 to Luwagga’s Hapoel Kfar Saba.

In the Danish Premier League, Moses Opondo started before paving way for Klynge in the second half as his Odense drew 1-1 on the road against Sonderjyske while

Midfielder Robert Kakeeto played 90 minutes as his Aalborg side beat Brondby 2-0.

In the Tanzanian Vodacom Premier League, right back Nicholas Wadada featured for full time as his Azam FC crushed Singida United 7-0.

Boban Zirintusa started before being withdrawn in the 89th minute as his Mtibwa Sugar side drew 1-1 against Alliance FC.

In Swedish, Elitettan Women League, forward Ritah Kivumbi played 86 minutes as her Mallbackens fell 4-1 to Brommapojkarna while Viola Nambi was an unused substitute as her Vaxjo DFFW drew 1-1 at home to Uppsala W in the Allsvenskan Women.

Meanwhile forward Alexis Bbakka wasn’t in the match day squad as his Umea FC side drew goalless at home to Osters in the Suppretan.

Elsewhere, Joseph Mpande featured in the entire game as his Hai Phong side lost 2-0 to Sai Gon FC in the V- league of Vietnam while

Moses Oloya also played full time as his side Hanoi T&T side drew 1-1 with Than Cong.

In the English championship, Hebert Bochorn wasn’t in the matchday squad as his Huddersfield Town FC drew 0-0 at home to Preston while

Jordan Obita wasn’t in the match day squad as his Reading FC side thumped Luton 0-5 on the road.

In Albania, Godfrey Walusimbi wasn’t in the match day squad as his Vllaznia side defeated Gjirokastra 0-1 on the road.
