Open Catergory: She Corporate 1-0 Gadhafi Intergrated School (Scorer: Tina Nambirigge)
Primary Catergory: Mwanda Foundation, Iganga 2-0 Jolly Primary School
The 2016 Mama Becca Women football tournament successfully concluded on Sunday at Old Kampala S.S play ground.

Mwanda Foundation school in Iganga defeated Jolly Primary school 2-0 in the final to take the junior’s category.
Olivia Nabirye scored a brace in the final.

In the open event, Tina Namirigge scored for She Corporate in their 1-0 win against Gadhafi Intergrated School during the final match.
FUFA second Vice President, Darius Mugoye handed over the trophies and different prizes to the winners.
The closing day festivities were also attended by FUFA Executive committee members, Chris Kalibala and Agnes Mugena, FUFA women football development officer, Hadijah Namuyanja, Ayub Khalifa (women football delegate), Ali Mwebe (FUFA Competitions Manager), State House official, Norah Nassimbwa among others.

“We thank all the participating teams for respecting the good work of Mama Becca who was a good advocate of women football in Uganda. Let us continue with the committed play as we continue to develop women’s football” Mugoye urged.
The tournament, which has been held since 2009 in memory of Becca Kazibwe, a departed heroine in women football development in the country was played over Saturday and Sunday.
Unlike the previous editions, this year’s event had district qualifiers for the primary schools.

Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) exclusively sponsored the tourney with support of Crown Beverages Limited who provided the refreshments throughout the tournament and several tents for shade from sun shine and rains on the closing day.
Focus in women football now drifts back to the FUFA women Elite league.
