It will be serious action in Kajansi and Nabweru sports grounds when the Wakiso District women football league gets underway today. The League has been held since 2009 and FUFA are hopeful that the women will learn a lot for this year’s action. Eight teams have registered for the league that will be played in two groups-one based on the Nabweru ground while the other in Kajansi.
One of the FUFA Executive committee members Mariam Kalega says that she is convinced women’s football will reach greater heights.
‘I know the women are ready to play the games. They have learnt a lot over the years and those are signs of the growth of the game’ said Kalega while talking to FUFA media team.
Kalega adds that the District championships played around the country will help select players and teams to feature at the regional level before playing in the National championships.
