The third edition of the Mama Becca Kazibwe Cup successfully climaxed at Old Kampala Secondary school play grounds, Kampala on the International Women’s Day.
At a special event watched by a mammoth crowd from all walks of life, FUFA President, Eng. Moses Magogo.
Jinja based team, Namaleeba emerged the best in the under 14 girls category winners after overcoming fellow Jinja team, Jinja Army Primary school 3-0 in a thrilling final to topple over 80 other teams that participated starting from the regional qualifiers.
Sharuwah Nakayima, Hajira Namugabwe and Rashida Nanangu scored for Namaleeba Girls team in the finals.
London College Nansana overcame Kawempe based Gadaffi Integrated School 4-1 in a sided open final.
Aisha Nantongo notched a hat-trick before Asia Nakibuuka scored the other goal to seal the victory.
All London College’s goals came in the second stanza of the game.
Zaina Namuleme netted a penalty before Damali Matama’s goal proved to be the only consolation foe Gadaffi Intergrated School, who had earlier eliminated favorites Kawempe Muslim in the semi finals via spot kicks after a barren draw.
Speaking before the award and trophy presentation ceremony, FUFA President, Eng. Moses Magogo appreciated the efforts of various personalities who have worked tooth and nail to see the development of women football in the country.
I appreciate everybody whose effort has had a hand onto the successful organization of this year’s tournament. From the women football leaders, Ex-internationals, FUFA administrators and support staff, sponsors and the media, your effort is highly appreciated
Flanked by the CEO, Edgar Watson, FUFA Technical Director, Asuman Lubowa, Uganda Crested Cranes Head coach, Majidah Nantandah, women football leaders the FUFA president challenged the women footballers to continue playing the beautiful game and excel to produce the Uganda women football professionals.
From the talent I have seen from this tournament, I urge all the women footballers to continue with playing effortlessly and excel to play professional soccer

This was the third time that the tournament was been played in honour of football’s number one female cheer leader, Becca Kazibwe (RIP), who passed on years ago.
Several excelling individual players were rewarded different prizes as Slyvia Namuli, a daughter to the deceased was recognized on behalf of the family.
Mama Becca’s daughter, Betty Namuli (third right) was specially recognized for carrying aloft the family’s legacy.
The best two teams per category received medals with the champion teams bagging gold.
