YOUTH FOOTBALL: Kitara Hoima triumphs in Bunyoro Chenga U-14 Football

Winners:

Champions: Kitara – Hoima

Runners – up : Kilembe Junior

MVP : Rogers Bwambale (Kilembe Junior)

Top Scorer: Moses Bakkabulinde (Kitara – Hoima)

Best Goalie: Richard Ufoi (Kitara – Hoima)

The Bunyoro – Kitara City Tyres U-14 Chenga
football qualifiers climaxed over the weekend at the Buhinga Stadium in Fort Portal.

Kitara – Hoima emerged champions, having beaten Kilembe Junior in the finals.

They were thus rewarded with a cash prize of Ug.shs 700,0000 and a glittering trophy.

Kilembe Junior themselves also earned a runners up trophy and a cash reward of Ug.shs 300,000.

Five teams took part in the day long tourney that will climax with the national finals in Masaka come August 2014.

They were; Wildcat (Fortportal), Kasese Junior Academy and Kyenjojo Friends.

Mubende’s Kasana Junior were disqualified for using illegible players (overage).

Each of the participating teams received a ball courtesy of the organizers, Friends of Football (FOF) proudly sponsored by City Tyres.

Kabale will host the next regional qualifiers on Saturday, 28th June 2014.

Already, regional qualifiers have been held in the Northern, West Nile, Buganda and Bunyoro.

The team assured of slot at the national finals are Gulu Junior Academy, The Kids of Arua, Masaka’s Alpha and now Kitara – Hoima.

The climax will be the national championships at Masaka Recreational stadium (28th – 31st August 2014).
